The Caiitefbury Rugby Union has decide'd to write, to the Ashburton, Bailie*. and West Coast Unions, inviting they to play nt Christchurch this year, •iwlicther or not the Han'furly Shield is still held by Canterbury, and offerings them a portion of the gate receipts. ‘ The Union granted the request of the Brunner Sub-Union bf the West Coast, Union to play a second grade Canterbury team as a curtain raiser to-' the Canterbury-West Coast match on September 2nl.
