At Wimbledon, Farquharson created the first sensation of the tournament by heating Perry (Africa). He played above his form with scintillating volleying, to which Perry had no reply. Perry seems stale. ‘This 5» his third defeat in recent first class matches. Farquharson is one of the freest and most stylish players to the tournament.
It is noticeable that McGraths unique, backhand grip is spreading. Both Nimoi and Brugnon occasionally used it to-day.
