FINGER PRINTS
IDENTIFICATION OF DOCTORS. SYDNEY UNIVERSITY DECISION. SYDNEY. June 26. At a meeting of the Sydney University Senate it was decided to adopt a suggestion from the New South Wales Medical Board that thumb-prints and signatures of recipients should tie at* fixed to diplomas issued to graduates in' the faculty of medicine. Dr. F. A. Maguire, secretary of tho New South Wales Medical Board, stated that the move had been suggested for the purpose of safeguarding the public from imposters. The idea was suggest-ed-many years ago by the old Medical Board. Adelaide University had adopted it. :
The Registrar of the University, Mr W! A. Selle, said that a similar proposal was made by the Faculty of Medicine about 1910. Tho print of the tlihnil) of both hands would be. placed 011 the diploma, and the signature would be placed between the two prints.
