FINAL TRIBUTE
TO LATE MR WSLLIAM KNOX

SYDNEY, June 24
Representatives of all sections of business, public and private life attended the funeral • of the late- William Knox 1 to-day including members of the staff of the Colonial Sugar Refining Company. A devotional service was held at All ; Saints’ Church, Woollahra, and thousands of people gathered in the vicinity. .The Governor was represented by ,L' oU^ Commander Gifford, A.D.C. Hundreds of wreaths were piled, on three floats. Reverend Canon Langley, paying a tribute to deceased, said: “Australia will be poorer for his passing. She lias lost one of her eminent sons, a devoted leader of commerce, who played a large part in builfling up a big industry, which gave livelihoods to a great number of people, v No industry has stood higher in .ttye public estimation or in stability tLtn the one to which the best part., of Mr Knox’s long life was devoted.” The burial was at Wavorlev Cemetery.
