“BOOM SALE” FOR SHEEP
INVERCARGILL, June 27
Scenes reminiscent of a “boom” period were witnessed at Lornevale stock sale to-day, when the top price for fat lambs reached 35/3d The yarding of fat lambs exceeded the previous record offering of 12,000 last week, but, owing to the continuous arrival of consignments, to-day’s total will probably not be known until tomorrow.
Without allowing for the sheep brought to the sale by road there were 132 trucks, compared with 103 last week. The top rpice of 35/3d was given for a pen of 17 lambs.
