‘ /(BREST,S IN YUGOSLAVIA. FORMER ARMY OFFICERS. BELGRADE, June 22. The Yugoslavian police have arrested .a number of persons accused of espionage, some of whom have confessed their guilt. Among those taken into custody' was Dieutenant-iColonel iMitzitsch, formerly of the 'Austro-Hungarian Army, who is said to have been for two years in the secret service of two neighbouring countries. Three other ex-officers of the AustroHungarian Army, all Yugoslavian nationals, were Also arrested, as well as two foreigners who had settled down as traders in Dubrovnik, Russia. The police had great difficulty in dealing with agitated crowds that assembled in Agrani, the capital of Croatia, when youths who had taken part jin & torchlight procession, organised by the Union Indranska Stra z<% tried to approach the Italian Consulate u, demonstrate and protest against hostile speeches by Fascist youths, and the incident of the burning of a Yugoslavian flag. Before the procession con'd reach the Italian Consulate the police broke it up. and, later, when it wa s reorganised, the police brought up reinforcements and, .attacking vigorously, put ■an end to it.
