• 8 COMPETITOR'S AT WELLINGTON. : WELLINGTON, June 25. The twenty-seventh annual oratory i contest for the Plunket Medal, which was conducted by the Victorian University College Debating Society in the Town Hall concert chamber on Saturday evening, was won by Mr -V. K <atz > who took for his subject ‘‘John Reed. American journalist and poet.” Mr A' H. Scotney who spoke on Cecil Rhodes, was-placed second, and Messrs ,T. 11. FOlder and K. J. Scott tied for third place. There were eight speakers, seven men and one woman, who ?poke on eight noted men. J- . -
