NAZI OPPOSITION DEMONSTRATION OF PATRIOTISM. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). VIENNA, June 25. Bonfires are blazing on fifteen hundred lulls and mountain tops throughout Austria, those in the vicinity of I Germany being illuminated with the | words “Hail, Austria!” and also guns firing salutes, constitute part of tonight’s great patriotic demonstration. It is one intended to show the Nazis that Austria cannot he intimidated. “If we are driven to it, lie who takes life shall pay with- life!” declared Doctor Dolfuss, the Prime Minister, thereby indicating the possible introduction of the death penalty, when he was addressing a crowd of twelve thousand people.
He added: “We have restored faith in our Austrian Fatherland. Our people need not fear the future!” I Several more Nazi leaders have been arrested, including seven deputies. One Nazi leader, Frauenfeld, was arrested near the Italian border, and was brought back. /NAZI MANDATES MADE VOID. EXPULSION OF MEMBERS, VIENNA, Juno 23. The Lower House passed a Bill rendering void the Nazi mandates. The Nazi burgomaster of Kitzlnieii[ was sentenced to ten week’s imprisonment and was fined £3O for his proNazi activities.
A mandates bill entails the expulsion of eight Nazi members from Parliament.
A Nazi named Knirsch, was expelled from Parliament for disparaging Czecho-Slovakia’s attitude towards Germany in 1930.
