ORDER DECLINED
TT.S.A. INQUIRY FOR N.Z BEER DUNEDIN, June 19.
It is understood that inquiries made in Dunedin last week indicate that the thirst of the public of the United .States for light beer has by no means been assuaged by the amendments to the prohibition laws. Through the local representative of American interest?, Speights' branch of the New Zealand Breweries Ltd., has been approached with a view to the placing cf an order for the immediate delivery at San Francisco of 25,00 casks of three point two beer. In view of the fact that the local brewer,r do not produce beer of this strength, the order had to bo declined, and a representative of the firm stated this evening that, in any case, there probably were not 25,000 casks of beer in the Dominion. It is not known what steps are now' being taken to fill the order.
