OKARITO DREDGE. The return for last week was 90oz for 124 hours’ work. LAWSON’S FLAT COMPANY The following report has been received from the mine manager: — During the process of opening up No. 2 face since commencing operations on June 6, 2700 cubic yards of material have been sluiced, with 124 hours’ water Approximately 1800 yards of this total consisting of bottom material underlying the wash, which had to be sluiced away to form a channel for tailrace, after which 900 cubic yards of regular gokl-bcar-iug wash with surlaco rubbish was sluiced.
A elean-up of the tadraco and tables at No 2 face, in preparation for normal work, returned 28} ounces of retorted gold. At No 1 face, 60 hours’ work has so far been used in removing rubbish and opening up. No clean up has yet taken place at this face.
The material is sluicing and travelling well in both f aees.
The manager, Mr C. (look, states that, the in' ial work of opening up. clearing awav debris, etc., lias necessarily taken up considerable time, but be is of ooinion that the original estimate in this direction will be fully 1 maintained.
