HIGH SCHOOL
'.HOKITIKA BOARD OF GOVERNORS. MEETING HELD YESTERDAY. The Hokitika High School Board of I Governors met yesterday afternoon when there were present Messrs J. A. Murdoch ’(chairman)- representing the Education Department, D. J. Evans (Westland County), T. W. Duff (Kumara 1 Borough), W. H. Shannon (Education Board), J. King (Hokitika Borough), and T. W. Bruce (secretary). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
The secretary reported that the Board’s inscribed stock had been converted ,as required by the recent legislation. It was decided that the conversion be approved. The Audit Department forwarded the balance sheet'.for the year ended 1932, which had beien approved with one minor amendment.
Two 'applications , were received for the . lease of 'Section 3, Sewell Street. The. chair man. said that the Board, under igtatutqj had no power to grant either,-tow '(•;

Th© secretary's at hjs own suggestion was. reduced to £2O for the coming year.
The [attention of the Board was drawn to the fact that the amounts, requested by the Department to be paid to the Education Board for the past two years, amounting to, £376, had not 'been paid. It wa s decided that these amounts be paid.
