•ABOLITION-ADVOCATED. (Per Brest Association Copyright.) AUCKLAND, June 14. The abolition of the War Pensions ■ Board find the institution °* two boards to take the place of the present War Pensions Appeal Board is advocated by ■ th e executive of the Auckland Provincial Patriotic and War. (Belief Association. .

In a report to a meeting of the executive, the claims board, said that there were - several cases of extreme delay in determination by the appeal board of applications for pensions. It wa 6 felt that in justice to the claims

of many delayed cases, the claims boald must make s ltc h grants as would keep the 'applicants from want during tne waiting period. One case was cited in which, seven months had elapsed from t.h© time' of appealing, and the case had not yet be/m determined. As the 'appeal baord had left Auek-

land it was probable that another three months would elapse before the case Was completed. A modification that might be to the advantage of all, would be* the disbanding of the ordinary War Pensions Board and the institution of two boards to take the place of thi one Pensions Appeal Board, one board to act in the North Island and one in the South Island.

It was decided to endorse the claims board’s suggestion regarding the pensions boards, and to make representations to the Government on those lines.
