The con B truction of the road from Tuatapere round the coast to PuySegu:r, and from there through to the •Sounds to Mi'lford, eventually joining up with the West Coast at Jackson’s Bay, was the suggestion placed before the Executive of the Southland League this evening, in a letter from Mr R. A. Andereon, C.M.G. There was general agreement on the far-reaching, possibilities of go vast a project, which of the League, Mr W. j|in|l|gy,: roughly estimated would cost) ort||itnii'-K'On sterling. A committee Was set up to ‘ study the scheme from the point of view of practicability and cost, and to discus* it. with Mr Anderson, and if possible with the Minister of Public Works.
