With the arrival of the Norwegian tanker Nina Rorthen from Texas liast evening came the first cargo of bulk motor spirit brought by way of the Panama Calial. The ship carries four thousand tons of petrol for the Associated .Motorists’ Company. The shipment represents the first of a now grade of motor spirit which the company intendk’-t'o market in New Zealand. • '

A further shipment of Russian petrol which was introduced to New Zealand two mouths ago is now on another tanker bound' for New Zealand.

The Nina Borthen is chiefly engaged in carrying "billk cargoes between Texas and European ports, but last year she carried Russian petrol from : Datum to France.
