Dr. Malan luia retained the Calvin hi scat by a substantial majority. Likewise Dr. St-eenkeman lias won in Namaqualand.
Colonel Wilkins was the -only Independent to be returned yesterday. He captured a Transvaal rural seat. Six rural returns are still to come. Pi’oli.'.hly. all will be Nationalist Coalitionists.
It is understood that the mines will contribute an extra seven millions from the gold premium to the general revenue, thus enabling the Union Budget ta he balanced. The latest state of the parties is given as follows:—Coalitionists 115; Independents 7 ; Labour 2; bufc from other messages it can be gathered that the Coalitionists have now 133; Independents 9; and Labour 2 with six returns outstanding.
