SEVERE CENSURE

CHRISTCHURCH, May 19

A severe censure was passed by Magistrate Lawry oil two traffic inspectors at Kaikoura, who drove a motor lorry at night - without lights, while carrying out a speed test, and who undertook the test without notifying -the defendant George Hill. Hill was previously charged with exceeding the speed limit, and the Magistrate had adjourned the case for a test, owing to a. conflict of evidence. Mr Lawry dismissed the case, deciding lie could not accept the allegations made, after the test had been carried out surreptitiously.
