NEW REGULATIONS
IMPORTANT CHANGES OUTLINED.

WELLINGTON, May 18. Regulations of . importance to hie dairying industry are published-in the Gazette. Considerably mpre control is to be exercised., in future oyer the manufacture and export of produce, as the result of which it is hoped to bring about an improvement in the quality, ' . particularly/,in regard 'to cheese. ‘Tn framing the - regulations, the Government lias taken i into consideration the recommendations of the recent conforetice at Wellington representing all sections ' of' tne dairying industry, , .With one exception, the recommendations are - embodied in the new regulations’. , :
The conference, proposed that, steps be taken to. provide, for the licensing of factory managers, but the factory managers’ association is to be given an opportunity -to. express its .views concerning the lines upon which such regulations ■ should be framed before • any action is taken in this direction. The regulations have been made under the Dairy industry Act, 1908, and an opportunity .has also bedn taken to consolidate ..the. existing, regulations as amended from time'to thne.
