LONDON, May 18
In the British Women’s golf championship final at Gleneagles, Miss Enid' Wili’on defeated .Miss Diana Plumpton 5 up land 4. Miss Wilson achieved her ambition by completing the ’hat-trick success in titles, unequalled since Lady Margaret Scott’s record in 1893-5.
Twenty-two years old, Miss Plumpton, an Essex County player, reached the final for the. first time. She beat en route Miss Wanda Morgan, and Miss Diana Fishwick. • She is a game, plucky fighter, but Miss Wilson’s powerful driving and long iron were too good for her.
