ESTIMATED STATISTICS

The estimated population 0 f New Zealand, with its dependencies and mandated territory, now .exceeds 1,600,000. The males, 816,428, continue to largely outnumber the females, 783,761. Twelve months ago the total was 1,587,978. at is noteworthy that during the quarrel ended March 31 last, the population showed an increase of 3259, compared with an increase of '2745 during the corresponding quarter of 1932.
