PRISONERS SENTENCED

DUNEDIN, May 18. The following prisoners were sentenced :
Allan. Clive Mangan, 21, and William Elan, Allan, 18, charged with holding up a taxi driver with a revolver; also burglary. Each was sentenced to. four yeans’ in Borstal. Accused engaged a taxi driver to take them to the outskirts of the city, where they held up the driver and searched him. The driver (struck one with his fist and both bolted. All they got was a box of matches and a. revolver, which was recovered. Accused said it was useless and threw it away.
Albert Harris, for attempting to escape from custody while waiting trial on a charge of receiving stolen property, received six months’ imprisonment. Accused was found attempting to saw tlie bar of a cell wiridow.
