WELLINGTON, May 15
.. Messrs A. R. Entrican (State" Forest engineer) and R‘. Bauchop, of Tokanui, have returned from England after investigating the>' possibilities of Southland beech: in the English market.
They- stated they had been successful in establishing this timber on th§. nfai’ket, appointing a I ..’on don firm, one of the largest timber firms in Europe, to represent Southland millers, and market the timber. The foundations of a valuable trade had been laid. New Zealand should be able to secure a large share of business that now was monopolised by American ash and European beech. r: .
