The relief workers at Johnsonville, who, it is understood are on' ' their ‘stand-down 7 , week, refused to dig thes<s trenches at' the ordinary sustenance' rates of pay, asking for ordinary labourers’ wages. It also is understood that city relief workers have been sent to dig the trenches.
