The 'Minister stated as the result of conference with the public service eommisisoner an announcement would be made in a few days in respect of another officer who would be responsible for the administration, as distinct from the professional work of the department. It was not proposed to restrict this appointment to members of the Education Department or even to officers of the public, service, but applications would be invited throughout the Dominion. I
