“COUNTRY IN DARK."

,DUNEDIN CRITICISM. DUNEDIN, April 27. The Dunedin “Star” says: “The omission of the Prime Minister to fill the position of Minister of Finance adequately leaves Cabinet in a most unenviable plight. More than that, it leaves the country in an exposed position' at the very time it most needs .protection. Air Coates’ assumption of the portfolio of Finance has indeed been signalised by ominous divisions. Can he much longer keep tire country uninformed as to the trend of the Dominion’s finances? In the particular circumstances there appears to be added personal responsibility to the ordinary Ministerial one, but so far Mr Coates ignores c,v evades both.”
