The Premier (Mr Butler), speaking at Neon, said that, if the people of South Australia, had the opportunity of expressing their opinion on the question. of secession from the Federation, they would do as the people of Western Australia had done. He was sorry to have to make such a statemcait, but he interpreted the feeling of the people of South Australia as one of grave resentment against the treatment meted out them by the Commonwealth G over 1 i men t.
“Any action taken by my Government will be to save Federation, not .smash it.”
