GUNMEN ACTIVE
SHOOTING iN MELBOURNE. MELBOURNE, April 23. A party of gunmen, hidden in an. arcade in Grey Street, St. Kilda, fired a fusillade as Herbert Adams, formerly a bookmaker, stepped out of an adjoining shop on Saturday evening. One shot struck Adams in the leg. He was taken to the hospital. His assailants escaped. The spot is a busy, one, Thera were two newsboys in the line of fire. They had a lucky escape.
