SHANGHAI, April 15
Following the consent of the Soviet government to return the Chines, e Eastern Railways rolling stock, except the locomotives, the Government of :Manchukuo will present a'Note demanding the unconditional .return of all the engines belonging to the Chinese Eastern (Railway.
It is believed that if the Soviet i-ia-Hs la strike on the railway or hedges in any way, Manchukuo will proceed to seize the whol 0 line, in which Russia has a half share.
The “Sunday Times” says: “It is safe to say that upon the events of the next few days may depend the future relations of Soviet Russia not merely with Great Britain, hut with the whole of the Western world.”
VICKERS CONFIDENCE
LONDON, April 15
The Metropolitan Vickers Board unanimously passed a resolution of sympathy with the accused engineers, emphasising its complete confidence in their integrity and loyalty. The, board elected Mr Richards, .manager of the London branch, a director, as an indication of its confidence in bis conduct of the Russian business.

BRITONS MAY, ESCAPE DEATH

(Received April 18 at 8.5 a.m.) When the trial resumed on Saturday night, grim red-visaged Visliiusky, wearing the order of the Red Banner began his speech for the prosecution, urging the importance of the trial in the eyes of the world. He piled adjectives in denunciation of their enemies.
Referring to British attacks he said : “We never concealed the class nature of our justice. Our courts defend the proletariat; theirs dcifend the capitalist class.
Vishinsky claimed that the accused Russians proved traitors, and therefore ho. demanded the dorth penalty. He emphasised that the crimes of the Russians were more heinous than there of the Englishmen. This is taken to mean that he will not demand the death penalty for Englishmen.
