REGATTA AT WESTPORT

WESTPORT, April 15

The Kawatiri Rowing Club's Easter regatta wits' -held, this, aflcnfon ion the Buller river and produced a senes of interesting races, with the prizes well distributed. Marlborough (Blenheim, Picton, and Wuhan), Nelson (three ciew s ), and Kawatiri (four ere.vs) wore all well represented. Tlio Gothard Cup was won by Kawatiri No 1, stroked by Ivor Friend. Phe Harley Cup was won by Kawatiri No 2, stroked by R. Blair, while tlm youths’ race for the Jones Cup ,va.i won by Nelson, stroked by G. i*. Myttou. For the C. J. Atkin Cup there were four heats, won respectively by Blenheim, Picton, Kawatiri No 1. Pi etc h rowed mure vigorously and won by three lengths. The trophies were presented m the evening at a speial gathering. Tomorrow there.- will be an outing to Taugaiiga Bay.
