SYDNEY, April 6
Tiie' .Hfywesbnry river is rising so rapidly that the. town of Windsor is expected tp be isolated by the morning. The rain has not ceased, however, and it is possible the river may ..subside. Thousands of acres of land are already submerged. The Windsor—Sydney road is under water and Jigs been closed to traffic. Fine weather has remove the fears of serious floods on th« far northern riyers, but the. Weather Bureau issued ' a warning that floods were to he expected on the south coast. The rivers and all creeks in, Liverpool district overflowed yesterday and bridges have become impassable, isolating farmers in many low; lying areas. Sydney suburbs were under water yesterday. Many houses in Bankstowii' were flooded and the water was in the main streets, several feet deep. ■ Canterbury. Park racecourse was flooded to a depth- ol two feet. Much damage was done to market) gardens.
