TRIBUTE PAID

TO RETIRING PUBLIC SERVANT WELLINGTON, April 4,

Refering to the retirement of Mr R. P. Ward from the: position of Under-Secretary for Justice, which he has held since 1925, the Minister of Justice, Hon. Mr Cobbe, pays a tribute to his service.

The Minister says: “In Mr Ward’s retirement, the State is losng' a particularly good type of public servantone who has been able, painstaking, and thoroughly reliable. Mr Ward would have retired some time ago, but in deference to wishes that were expressed, he did not do so. In his retirement Mr Ward will have the good wishes of the Public Service.”
