THREE ARRESTS
CHARGE OF ATTEMPTED BURGLARY.

DUNEDIN, April 3
Three men attempted to break into service station on" Saturday evening., but were disturbed and made a get away in a car. Later they attempted to burgle another garage iiv the city but Jilin they were disturbed by an onf ** „r, who lioted the registration nut.J'er of their car and telephoned the police. A net was then thrown round the city by the police, and early on Sunday morning two constables arrested accused in a car. Detect-iVes' visted the house of one of the accused and recovered a quantity of allegedly stolen goods. MeGreath and Stewart borne from Invercargill, a ud Harris belongs to Dune-Jin. They appeared in the police court and were remanded for a week.
According to statements made to the police, McGfeath and Stewart left Invercargill in a motor, after breaking into a brewery and stealing liquor. It was also alleged that they raided a grocery and tobacco slion at Wvndham, and raided a •Matanra store. The police state that there are nine charges pending against McGfeath and Stewart, and several pin,gai list Harris.
