EXCELSIOR CLUB’S MEETING

The annual meeting of the Excelsior Football Club was held in Keller’s rooms on Thursday evening. Mr H. ;M. Coulson presided over a record attlondance of members and • intending members.

Before the business of the meeting was -dealt with the chairman .made feeling reference to th.g loss the Club had sustained through -the de'l% of its oldest member, Mr L. Hughes ( who had held th© office of Club captain for .many years, and had been a willing and energetic worker, not only for the Club but in the interests of Rugby generally. A motion of condolence was passed to the relatives of the deceased, members standing in silence. Th e report and balance sheet was rend and adopted. The election of officers resulted; president, Ml' H. M. Coulson; vicepresidents, present ones re-elected with the addition of Hi’s Oakey and Childs, Messrs J. Rutland, and W. Brown; joint secretaries, Messrs A, Stevenson and R. McDonald ; . coach, Mr F. Freitas; olub-captain, Mr L. R°&s ; selection committee, field captain, vicecaptain, coach and club captain; committee, Messrs C. Preston, R. King, L. Ross A. Thomvson, M. Davidson, W. Hughes • delegates to Sub-Union, R, McDonald. A. Thompson; junior captain, vice-captain and J. Hopkins. . . It wa. s resolved that the subscription for the ensuing season be : Seniors juniors 2s. It was decided that games be arranged for both senior and junior teams for Saturday. New members were elected as f°l s • K. Pedder, Richards, Clark. J. Davidson, Osborn, Kirkland, T. Staines, Growcott. G. Cooper. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to all who had assisted the Club during th« past season. . _ The meeting then terminated with a vote of thinks to the chair.
