LATE LOCALS

In connection With the dance at the Hospital Hall on April 7, Newmans Motors Lttd. cars will run to and from the dance.

Active steps are being taken by members of the Westland Aero Club Club to bring about the formation of the Federated West Coast Aero Clubs,' of which it is hoped the following-cen-tres will become members:—Westport, Ikunatua, Greymoutii, Hokitika, Ross, Wailio and Okuru. With this an- accomplished fact many benefits would accrue to the district in the way of Government recognition, and the advance of civil aviation.

Three planes from Wigram will shortly visit the West Coast to inspect the aerodromes at Wailio and Okuru for the purpose of advising the manner in which the grounds can he laid out enabling them to he classed as 'commercial) aerodromes. At the Hokitika aerodrome, which is already licensed, considerable improvements have been carried out during the past two months, under the supervision of the chairman of the chib-, enabling flights to be carried out under much better conditions.

Attention is again drawn to the dance recital being given by Alias DoMathy Thwaitos’ Grey mouth and Hokitika pupils in the Princess Theatre next Tuesday evening, the proceeds being in aid of the funds of the Hokitika Swimming Club. In addition to ballet and dancing exhibitions, Mi- Harold Prescott, New Zealand’s leading tenor, will contribute several items. Aluc-h attention lias been paid to the arranging of the programme which will he, to say the least, highly entertaining, and will meet with approval from all sections of the public. Similar to the one Aim Thwaites presented haref last year, a bumper house is anticipated as the entertainment will undoubtedly meet with excellent support.
