Four New South Wale s swimmers made their third appearance at Auckland this ©vlaning,’ (Record-breaking ,swims were made bv <l. Phillips and V. Besomo, two visiting champions. Phillips put up his time in winning the 150 yard s scratch race for intermediates in 1.29 l-fiiecs., which is 2 1-5 secs faster than G. Brid s on’s Austra-lian-New Zealand record. Besomo made a successful attack on the New Zealand 100 meters 'backstroke his timg 'being lmin. 12 2-ssecs. He tliu s bettered L. J. Ivloorhouse’g jecord by seven seconds.
