A firm, of Christchurch auctioneers report having sold, on account of Mrs W. Caswell, the freehold of the Springfield Hotel property, comprising an area of nine acres and a half, together with the hotel and outbuildings. The purchaser of the property is Mr H. An interested audience attended the Lantern Lecture given by the Rev. A. W. Stuart, last evening in the Public Hall at Kokatahi. Mr Stuart showed 120 slides illustrating a world tour in the interests of the Bible Society, concluding with well selected pictures of Westland scenery. The lecturer indicated that included in the work done for the Dominion, has been, the placing of 8000 Bibles in the bedrooms of the residential hotels for the pse of the travelling public.
