The following appointments were made by liis Lordship Bishop' Brodie at the meeting of the Diocesan Council.
The Rev. Father Seward was appointed to Kumara. The Rev, Father Lordan was transferee! from Kumara to take charge of the newly-formed parish of Sumner and Woblston.
The Rev. Father O’Brien, of-Ash-burton, will proceed to-' the Chatham Islands as the first resident priest of this mission, , The Rev. Father Jovce, of Ricc-ar-ton, was appointed to Methven during th e ; absence of the Very Rev. Father Price.
The Rev. Father Quinn, who . bus been relieving at Lincoln, will return to the Cathedral staff.
The Rev. Father AlcAlonagle, who has. visited. ..Ireland to take--part in the Eucharisic Congress, will resume duties -as- -administrator of the;'Cathedral, -w.jth 'Fathers Timoriey, Qhinri, Maguire, and O’Me-egh-sii -on the staff.
The Rev....Father' Anders-on—was appointed assistant at Hokitika.
Thp Rev. Father Brotfrie'' liAs been granted three months’ leave of absence, and, en. his return, will take up duty vs assistant at Rangiora. The Rev. Father Kilgour was transferred from Rangiora to Riccarton. The Rev. Father McKay, of Hokitika. .will proceed to Rangiora, for three months, and will afterwards be attached to the staff of the Cathedral.
All these appointments will take effect within the first week of the month of April. The) duties of. the chaplaincy of the’ new Carmelite Monastery will be 'attended to by the Cathedral stair.
