Work is proceeding smoothly between Krjkaihi and Manunni, rihe centre of the slips, where a dozen small slips are to be cleared. Maintenance and railway officials are doing exceptionally good work under trying conditions and long hours. The transhipping of passengers was carried out well -and speedily by the bus from . Ivakahi and Taumarunui, over 300 being transhipped this morning.: -Tlist© is no idea at present when the slips will be cleared for regular traffic, for it will be a big job. The scene of the slips is about 35 miles above Ohakune. Exceptionally jin (J weather is helping the work considerably. The road to Taumarunui is nearly clear.
