LESS THAN BUDGET ESTIMATES

RUGBY, March 22,

The total revenue collected during the current financial year which ends cn March 31, amounted on Saturday last to £709,056,745. This is £37,744,000 less than the budget estimate. Last week’s revenue amounted to £20,087,950. The surplus of ordinary revenue over ordinary expenditure for the week was £1,934,815.

The income tax so far collected totals £236,821,000, which is £23,119,000 below the estimate for the year. Last week’s income tax receipts were £11,445,000.
