OTTAWA, March 21

Appropriate action in conformity with the terms ol the trade treaty will be taken in connection with reported -nip meats of. New Zealand's butter on route to Canada.

AUSTRALASIAN BUTTER.

Mr Latham, Attorney-General, in the House of Representatives late last night announced that the Government had decided to defer action in regard to the proposed restriction of the export of Australian butter to the United Kingdom. This decision would enable the Australian Dairy Export Control Board to confer with the representative of the New Zealand Dairy Board who was arriving shortly. -

If as a result, the dairying interests recommended that no restriction be imposed, the Government would have mi hesitation in adopting the recommendation. .
