In the House of Commons,: the Secretary for India, Sir S. Hoare, w»s questioned regarding the constitutional problem of Burma. Sir S- Ho are ® a M that if the people of Burma and their representatives in the Legislative Council chose for separation from, India, the pritish Government - would ask Parliament to approve- o'f . the grant ■of a Burma constitution, on ... general 'lines indioa'ted at the -end of .the late Burma round table ...conference,;, and with which -the proposals for aconstitution for Iridia contained in the'White Paper corresponded very closely.
