MAN MISSING
IN FAR SOUTHLAND
traces lost in bush
INTER CARGILL, March 20.
Feans are being entertained for the safety of Herbert George Oran, aged 20, a single man employed at the local branch of the,Public .Trust Office, who has been reported ,to the police as being'missing. Oran left on liis annual leave a week ago on a bicycle for Orepuki, it being his intention to push on from there to Tautapere. He was last seen at Moiiowai on the following Friday entering the hush,' and making, it was believed, for the Manapouri track.
When be failed to meet liis friends arranged enquiries were made and the searcher.?' sent out found traces for two miles into the hush, but they were then lost. Oran was expected home on Saturday, and had to resume'-work to-day, but there lias been no sign of him.
