Th e principal function of the board is to ,admmii-t"r the area incorporated and surrounding the site of the signing,of th e Twenty of' Waitangi. Tli e site 1 war, recently present to the nation by Lord and L.dy liledisloft, ...... . Th e act under which ■ the board was 'ret up gives 1 airly powert* of administration, and tj lo expected procedure for the future v ill be mapped out at the kst meeting. Preparations are being made by th e Maoris in the district to'entertain the visitors. Lord and "Lady Bledjsloe,' who' aro lde member,? of the, board, - will attend, and other members who will be present include several members of tlie Cabinet, th e Prime ’ Minister, the Bt. Hon. •G- W. Forbes, the Rt. Hon.. J. 0.. Coates, tlie Hon. K- A. Ransom, and Sir A.pirana Ngata. Th, e following mem-berg o| the board will aido attend :i—-Mr K. S. WiUtamsy M.P., who was appointed as a member of thp fami’y of Archdeacon Henry. Williams’ Air R. Ka'witi, representing the H-one Heke, MaihT, Ka w iti, T«* matil Wabn Xcne, and Pomore families. Mr Tau Henare, M.P., representing tie Maoris'"of North Auckland, Mr V. H. Peed, a former member of the legislative Council, representing the mkeba residents of' the Bay of Island's, Si r Heatdn Rhodes, representing the pakeha and Aliiori peop’e of the South island, and Sir pnancis Bell, representing the family of Edward Gibbon Wakefield.
