B RADIO BROADCAST STATIONS.
GRAMOPHONE EMBARGO RESULT (Per Press Assoubtio*ir~- Copyright.} . DUNEDIN, March 8. ' A meeting of the proprietors of the South Island B Class Broadcasting Stations was held here to-day to discuss the position that has arisen as the result of the decision of the gramophone companies to refuse permission! to broadcast records. . Reference was-made to the arrangement which was recently come to with theso companies, under which the A Class Stations may broadcast records, and the allegation was made that certain of the h Class. vStations sponsored by the Broadcasting Board, were also being permitted to use the records.
The opinion was- expressed that the position of the B Clrss Stations was desperate, and io wa-, decided that there was no alternative but to close down as from March 10. An announcement to this effect was broadcast from each local J 3 Class Sta-> tion to-nighCi
