The Kumara Racing Club have adopted the win and place totalisator system, and Easter Monday will see bath machines in operation. The totalisator house will require some slight alterations so m to take the two, machines tide by side, hut it is understood that this work will be put in hand so as to have everything ready to work the new system at the annual fixture on April 17th. next.

The weekly practice of the Municipal Band was held last evening when upwards of twenty members were present and very satisfactory work was carried out under the able conductor, Mr Ross. The band is making very good progress of late and it is worth noting the younger members are showing good pPomi'se of being capable, musicians and with t'c full complement of hte baud m very satisfactory programme of music can bo presented to the public.
