WEDDING BELLS

At the weddihg yesterday at Holy Trinity Church, of Vera Mary Ellen, eldest daughter of Mr and 'Mrs "D. Swallow, of Runanga, to Robert Linton,. third son rtf Mr and Mrs H. I. Powell, of Papanui,' the bride was given away by her father. She wore a graceful ankle length gown of white crepe, do chine, with coatee and shoes to tone. Her embroidered veil fell from a lace cap that was finished with sprays of orange blossom to ’ form ,a! train. She carried a bouquet of dahlfe, lily auratum and chrysanthemums, with streamers of roses and maiden hair fern. The bridesmaid was Miss. Gladys Higsoa who wore a dr'ess of green celanese satin and radium -lace with coatee and shoos to tonoh' She wore a lace cream picture hat ’#iid carried .a bouquet .of tangerine and lemon arbitilous with lemon streamers. Misses Velda and Umice Cuisac were little flower girls, wearing ankle length dresis.es of pink and bine satin, bandeaux to tone and car-' vied Victorian posies of carnations and roses. Mr Victor Swallow, brother of the bride, was best roan, and Mr Barnard- Cook was groomsman'. The reeepion w«s held at Herb. Moore’s.

The bride’s mother received her •digests, wearing a dress of brown eelanese silk and hat to tone, also carrying a sheaf of red roses and dahlias. When the newly-married oou.ple left for Christchurch, the bride travelled in a tangerine hopsack dress with fur trimmed coat and "hat to tone.
