DEATH ANNOUNCED IN INDIA
MR FRANKLIN PETERSON
-LONDON, February 5. In a message from Delhi, the death is announced of Mr Franklin Peterson, Delhi correspondent of the Times, (formerly on the staff of th@ Melbourne Argus. The Times recalls the masterly fashion jn which Mr Peterson, as its correspondent in India, presented the ever-changing political situation in contributions, relieved with delightful wit. He showed extraordinary power, it remarks, in presenting the permanently important aspects of confused policies. “He was singularly lovable. Though diffident in attracting them, h e had friends all over the world, and was an excellent host and companion and a good sportsman,” adds tho. paper.
