ADELAIDE, February 23

Bush fires have, been raging at Ivangarilla and Kuitpo. A forest was destroyed, together with thousands of acres of the richest grassland, several hundred siieep and cattle, many miles of fencing, and tons of firewood.

Over five thousand fire-lighters worked throughout the day and night keeping the'Haines in check. They saved Sir Douglas Mawson’s hardwood mill, and other private mills. Bush-fives in the middle-north destroyed several flocks of sheep and burntout valuable grasslands.
