NORTH AUSTRALIAN PURCHASES

NEW YORK, February 17
Following on a preliminary investigation in Texas by Mr Kelby, of the council of industry and scientific re•sisaroh, and the present visit of Mr White, representative of graziers’ interests on the same .body, the Press Association learns that immediate purchases of the neAv American Zebu ftud cattle for Australian cattle groups are now being contemplated. Mr White, Avho has just completed a consultation Avitli Messrs Holder and Blair, respectively, directors of the bureau, of animal industry, has departed for Kingskille, Texas, Avhere he Avill spend some time among the cattle of Congressman Kleberg, on whoe-i properties important Avork in the Zebu type, has been done. It is understood that Mr Kclbv will arrive in the United States on March 10th., to make purchases. It is believed that the Zebu type is specially suited for sub-tropical areas, such as those of Queensland, this type being a tick resistant one.
