DOMINION CONFERENCE OPENS.

AUCKLAND, February 17
The Dominion conference of the 'Methodist Church opened with an address by the new president, the l’ev, A. J. iScaiuer. Referring to current problems, ol which he said a root cause wrs selfishness. ■This provision, lm said, should b° made in such a way as not to rob the recipient of his seif respect. Th 0 following officials were elected for the n ext conference; —President-elect, ttic Rev. C. Eaton (New Plymouth) ; secretary the Rev. W. A. Burley (Nelson). Mr IS. G. Alai tin (Wellington), was elected vice-president of the present conference.
