STRIKERS CLASH WITH POLICE.

BUCHAREST, February 17
The situation in ltoumania is apparently highly inflammable, it is stated that there is a considerable Communist movement throughout the country, which King Carol is determined to suppress.
Fighting at Bucharest ha s resulted in seven deaths, while scores have been wounded. There are to be 750 strikers courtmarfialled.
A most dramatic incident was that of a strike-leader brandishing a blazing torch, and trying to encourage his comrades, who were armed with steel rods, revolvers and other weapons in the face of advancing troops, who fired a volley. The leader fell dead. , All of the Roumanian garrisons are now mobilised on a war footing. The Government’s position is hourly becoming more difficult. The police have repulsed a Communist attach. The Royal Roumanian train has arrived with King Carol’s mother, and Queen Marie, from Belgrade. Fifty arrests have been made. .j UPRISINGS IN GREECE. SALONIKA, February 17. The police and communist have had clashes at Salonika. Seven people have been killed, and one hundred wounded. The worst clash was when the police raided the Communist Club. The police were compelled to use their revolvers, causing a rush to a. staircase, which collapsed.
